A series about the events of 1943, when, after the devastating events near Stalingrad, German troops are preparing for revenge. A Soviet landing group was thrown into the territory occupied by German troops. Autumn 1941. Miraculously escaping from the Kiev boiler, investigators from the military prosecutor's office Rokotov, Mirsky and Elagina arrive in Kharkov, where evacuation is already in full swing. The life of a successful lawyer and law academy teacher Marta Orlova is changing dramatically in just one day. She finds out that Artyom's fiance and colleague is cheating with her student, and her stepfather, the head of Martha's firm, who raised her after her mother's death, takes Artyom's side, because Martha's marriage to the son of Justice General Nikolsky is beneficial to both families.
