Tracker (2024)
Lone-wolf survivalist Colter Shaw roams the country as a “reward seeker,” using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all manner of mysteries while contending with his own fractured family.
- Vancouver Double: Although Tracker is set across the United States, it is primarily filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The production team uses locations in the Greater Vancouver area and Vancouver Film Studios to stand in for various U.S. cities and landscapes.
- Post-Super Bowl Boost: Tracker premiered on February 11, 2024, directly after Super Bowl LVIII, which helped the show garner significant viewership and buzz. This coveted time slot gave the series a massive audience right from the start.
- Hartley's "This Is Us" Connection: Josh Einsohn, Tiffany Little Canfield, and Bernard Telsey of The Telsey Office, who were the casting directors for This Is Us, also served as the casting directors for Tracker. Justin Hartley starred in both series.
- Supernatural Easter Egg: In the episode featuring Jensen Ackles (who played Dean Winchester in Supernatural) as Colter's brother Russell, there's a subtle nod to Supernatural. A 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS Convertible, similar to the iconic 1967 Impala from Supernatural, is parked next to Colter's truck.
- From Page to Screen: Tracker is based on Jeffery Deaver's novel The Never Game, which is the first book in the Colter Shaw series. Ben H. Winters created the TV adaptation, but the show doesn't follow the novel exactly, allowing it to create its own storylines.
- A focus on mysteries and missing persons cases solved by a lone-wolf survivalist.
- Action and drama as the main character uses tracking skills for rewards.
- A character-driven narrative, also exploring the protagonist's fractured family.
