Real Life Water Rats

Set against the beauty of Tasmania's rugged coastline, this 2005 four-part series follows a group of highly trained policemen and women as they lead the war against illegal fishing and spearhead search and rescue operations. Tasmania is the only state that combines search and rescue work with fisheries enforcement and the Water Rats spend an enormous amount of time at sea. Practical training is critical in Marine and Rescue with the demands of the job being as diverse as the fisheries laws are complex.
