Castle Rock (2018)

Based on the stories of Stephen King, the series intertwines characters and themes from the fictional town of Castle Rock.

A Multiverse of Easter Eggs: Castle Rock isn't a direct adaptation, but a melting pot of Stephen King's works, packed with references to Cujo, The Shining, IT, and many more. Even casual fans will recognize nods to King's vast universe, while hardcore "Constant Readers" will delight in spotting the deeper cuts.
Torrance Connection: Jackie Torrance, played by Jane Levy, isn't just a Castle Rock local; she's related to Jack Torrance from The Shining. She changed her name from Diane to Torrance as an homage to her troubled uncle, the ax-murdering writer.
Shawshank's Shadow: The infamous Shawshank Prison looms large in Castle Rock, with direct references to The Shawshank Redemption. There's even a mention of Warden Norton's suicide, with a character noting the bullet hole is still visible in the warden's office.
King Vets Assemble: The cast is full of actors who've previously starred in Stephen King adaptations. Sissy Spacek (Carrie) and Bill Skarsgård (Pennywise in IT) bring a meta-layer to the show, subverting their past roles in surprising ways.
The Number 19: Keep an eye out for the number 19, a recurring motif in Stephen King's works, including The Dark Tower series. Henry Deaver's disappearance date, 1/9/1991, is a subtle nod to this King obsession.
