Pink Floyd: The Final Cut (1983)
Pink Floyd released a 19-minute "video EP" in 1983 for The Final Cut, essentially four music videos in a continuous sequence, directed by Willie Christie, who was Roger Waters' brother-in-law. Scottish actor Alex McAvoy, who played the teacher in the film version of The Wall, had a prominent role in the video EP. Waters appears (though all but his mouth is silhouetted) as a patient singing the lyrics to a psychologist on the grounds of the Fletcher Memorial Home.

We're All Devo (1983)
Like The Men Who Make the Music, We're All Devo! has a storyline to tie the videos together. In it, the character of Rod Rooter (Michael W Schwartz) is reviewing Devo's music videos for Big Entertainment. Much to his chagrin, his daughter Donut Rooter (Laraine Newman) is a fan of the band. Donut discovers the videos after asking her father for money to get an abortion (though this is not explicitly stated). Two excerpts from the storyline were included in the "Complete Truth About De-Evolution" laserdisc and DVD (both out of sequence) but the rest is exclusive to this videocassette. "Theme from Doctor Detroit" was also not included, and is unique to this tape. (Wikipedia)

Absolutely ABC - The DVD Collection
Was it really as long ago as 1982 that ABC released the theatrical, Julien Temple-directed video for "Poison Arrow" (in which the band members perform on stage while watching themselves from the audience)? Amazingly, yes, and Absolutely ABC: The DVD Collection covers the stylish British duo's videos from 1982 to 1989 (Absolutely is also the title of their 1990 greatest hits collection). It could be argued that ABC were at their best on video (as opposed to the album format). "How to be a Millionaire," for example, may not have charted as high as previous singles, but it represents a pinnacle in the group's visual career--the video is completely animated, with vocalist Martin Fry and guitarist Mark White (who were augmented primarily by session musicians) rendered in cartoon form. Although the Absolutely DVD doesn't boast any extras, such as interviews or live footage, the disc features 14 essential ABC videos, including two different versions of "Vanity Kills." --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Backstreet Boys: Video Hits - Chapter One (2001)
The Backstreet Boys' The Video Hits: Chapter One is an entertaining collection of video hits from their albums Backstreet Boys, Millennium, and Black & Blue. It's not an exact duplication of the companion CD, The Hits: Chapter One, as it lacks the video for "Drowning." Each video offers something unique, from sending up the Michael Jackson classic "Thriller" in "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," to the sci-fi themed "Larger Than Life" to several straight-ahead performances with great sets, special effects, bare chests, and dance breaks. "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely" is an especially moving tribute to the band's personal losses. "I Want It That Way" portrays a stylized road tour and "The One" shows a live performance. The best story video is "The Call," a tale of infidelity and seduction.
