Near the end of the Korean War, a platoon of U.S. soldiers is captured by communists and brainwashed. Karla works in a call center. She marries Zaid Yakin and has a happy marriage with him. Even the death of her father-in-law gives Karla no reason to doubt the perfection of her family, until one night she discovers that her husband and son Hamy have disappeared without a trace. Shortly afterwards, she is made privy to the ongoing investigation by officials from the Federal Intelligence Service.
