Young Charlie adores his grandfather Walter. Walter, who is dying, is building a sailing vessel on his farm, far from the sea and seemingly cannot live to see the boat launched. David, Charlie’s father and Walter’s son-in-law lost his wife some time before and has now lost his faith in God as well. He argues with Walter about Walter's persistence in telling Charlie to have faith that they will sail the boat together soon, as David knows Walter will not live long enough to do so. But sometimes miracles happen.

A man is making a research about the importance of familiar environment in children's future. First, he interviews a prostitute, Rosa, who's in jail because of the murderer of her pimp. She was a poor child, living only with her father. He wants to send his daughter to school, but they don't find place and the father has to leave the child with the neighbour, while he's working. But the man is hit by a car and dies. Years later, Rosa finds herself alone after her adoptive mother dies. A young man from his same vicinity, wants to help her, after hearing her singing. But the truth is that he wants to turn Rosa into a prostitute and live from her money. The other story is about a boy, who goes with his father to sign up in the school.

Philippe, Théo and Bob share the same cell in the prison of La Santé. Philippe, a young student, known as "Sciences-Po", is planning revenge against those who sent him to prison. He offers his two fellow prisoners, seasoned mobsters, to help him recover an important document from a diamond dealer in Le Havre. This paper would rehabilitate his father, his two comrades being able to keep the diamonds contained in the safe... But the coup does not go as planned.
