The 70s (2002)
Amanda and Julian are doing their best to rear their five sons during the repressive dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos. Though the parents view themselves as apolitical, most of their sons bristle at life under martial law and turn to various forms of activism -- or to simple teenage rebellion -- for release. Golden Era (2024)
Amid the nation's chaos brought by the Martial Law, Rosa, bruised and battered, runs from her captors as she seeks a safe place to stay. Once she was able to find a place to stay, she documented and narrated her experience as she watched her friend die from torture at the hands of the soldiers. Eventually, the soldiers caught up to her and made her suffer as they held her captive.
