Abahachi, Chief of the Apache Indians, and his blood brother Ranger maintain peace and justice in the Wild West. History professor Baisch, his depressive and tablet-addicted brother-in-law Anzengruber and a manic cabaret artist have a car accident on a remote country road after a party. Wedged between two trees they get stuck, doors and windows can no longer be opened, the windows made of bulletproof glass cannot be smashed. Injured and with no chance of escape, they wait for days for rescue. Their only provisions are a bowl of herring salad and a few bottles of Prosecco. The pre-Christmas period in a household with four small, temperamental children creates a comedy in itself. But when problems with the password lock are added to the confusion, the fun is guaranteed. A busy father of a family buys one of these ingenious gadgets. This invention is supposed to make it impossible for his children to constantly search for Christmas presents. The tense atmosphere and the interplay of random circumstances mean that even trivial problems begin to take on completely different dimensions in the mother's eyes. The previously trusting wife interprets her husband's chess training, mysterious phone calls.... And to make matters worse, the father forgets the password to the lock. Everything culminates when the wife discovers a present under the tree that was probably intended for another woman. However, the mysteries are not solved until New Year's Eve, when - surprise surprise - the mother-in-law intervenes in the story.

Detective Lieutenant Boruvka (Lubomír Lipský) is called to the State Scientific Library to investigate the loss of a precious manuscript, the Infernal Psalter of the Occult Sciences by Master Peregrinus from the eleventh century, written in a secret script which has only recently been deciphered by senior lecturer Zajíc (Josef Chvalina). Chaos is reigning in the labyrinth of passages and halls of the former monastery where the library is housed. In order to save space the director of the library has introduced a peculiar system. The books are arranged in the bookcases according to height and six girls dressed in black, the library assistants, are quite happy to cut volumes down to size in case of need. Boruvka refuses the case, since he is specialist in murders. He has to return to the investigation, however, when senior lecturer Zajíc disappears.

To be looked after so lovingly - what man wouldn't want that? Bernd Vogel pins all his hopes on Renate, the attractive dancer, although he can't really complain about the care of his faithful girlfriend Berta. The friendly man with the big heart gets into a few arguments, not least because he pursues his adolescent daughter with fatherly jealousy. Nevertheless, he eventually finds the happiness he deserves.

He is a true Indian at heart, but on the outside, little, chubby and pale Max could hardly be further removed from the appearance of a Native American.
