During the Civil War, Union Corporal MacDonald is entrusted with a large shipment of gold. He decides to keep the cargo, and stashes it for later rescue. While hiding from the royal authorities, Giacomo Casanova, the famous romancer, encounters his look-alike: Giacomino, a fugitive petty con man.
