Maria-Eleonora is an actress. During a film premiere she leaves the screening hall and crashes her car into the concrete wall of a parking lot, killing herself. Her longtime friend and aspiring film director Peter try to find out the reasons behind this dramatic act and interviews her relatives, colleagues, closest friends. He adds to the interviews video footage that he himself shot during their life together and some film scenes in which Maria-Eleonora took small supporting parts. Thus, Peter creates the film "Scenes from the life of an actress". Peter learns that everyone has a story about what happened, but no one really knew the deceased actress. Peter didn't knew her too.

There is a small village near the sea and behind the state border electronic alarm system. Its last inhabitants are seven old toughs prone to practical jokes and easy living. At the funeral of the last elderly woman in the village they get fired up with the idea to hire a "tart" and throw a party. The girl in question has been fired from the striptease bar in the nearby town. She arrives with her little son. The old toughs, the girl and the boy establish friendly relations. Meanwhile a lieutenant from the frontier post falls in love with the girl. Later on two more stripteasers pay a visit to the first one and make friends with the old guys. A small group of foreign hunters and their guide join the company due to a raging storm. One of the stripteasers devises a "business plan" which suits everybody and soon everything in the village looks incredibly fine - until the goons of Madame Cornelia come to get things in order.

Deli Mehmed, the groom’s father, sets out to seek the girl’s lover and punish him. Adil assumes responsibility for Hatte, announces that it was with him that Hatte eloped and proposes a manly duel between the suitors. Deli Mehmed announces that Adil deserves Hatte. Meto comes back, but Hatte announces that she is staying with the man who gave her protection.

Belated Full Moon (1996)
The story largely centers on a grandfather who finds himself deeply depressed by the dramatic downward turns Bulgarian society has taken. The changes of the past half century have created a deep communications gap between generations and he is unable to communicate with his troubled son. Nor is the old man able to do much to help his grandson who is making his first forays into criminal life, blaming it all on his mother who admits she is incapable of loving him. The grandfather tires of life with the bleak family and so goes to an old folks home. But that proves repressive, so he and a couple of friends leave to enact a money-making scheme. When that fails, the old man finds himself alone and destitute on the rough streets of Sofia where his despairing eyes witness the further ruination of his homeland.
