Gary is a good boy who loves his new owner, Cameron. He gets treats and belly rubs and life is great. Gary isn’t allowed in the basement though. And even if he was, he can’t unlock doors. But there’s a girl in the basement. And she can’t come out to play. Gary doesn’t know it, but he’s her only chance.

Young couple Patrick and Abigail journey to a new-age retreat in New Mexico, drawn by the possibility of healing after a traumatic event. Patrick is willing to do anything to help his wife but becomes distrustful of the retreat’s enigmatic leader even as Abigail falls under her spell. As paranoia builds, the couple must determine if the group’s unconventional spiritual practices offer genuine healing or mask a terrifying truth that threatens to consume them both.

In 1959 New York, a pensive Jewish fellow named Rivner befriends an oversized Italian-American tough named Boscolo from the Lower East Side. Both men served overseas during WWII and returned changed, no longer fitting inside the lives they'd left behind. Uninterested in taking orders from bosses or playing by the rules of polite society, the two friends partner up as a bookmaker and an enforcer and create an illicit gambling operation that proves to be very profitable, though risky, and their situation gets rather sticky when they find themselves stuck between a powerful Irish gang and the Mafia.
