Suji is the only daughter of billionaire Vishwanathan who plays unsuspecting pranks on everyone and one such prank she does by conducting an interview for choosing personal secretary for her father in which she chooses Ram as the secretary. Vishwanathan's friend Moorthy, manager and Swarna wants to takeover the whole property of Vishwanathan so Moorthy set up a person Raja to get married to Suji. However Suji gets married to Ram. Vishwanathan suddenly dies of heart attack and Suji who goes to Ooty gets killed by Ram and Moorthy. Suji becomes a ghost and decides to take revenge. Suji witnesses Mayamma, a look-alike who works a fake exorcist and asks her to act as herself. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.

Uma marries Balu, an honest civil engineer. Uma thinks that he is rich and receives lot of bribes but turns out Balu is from the middle-class like her. Uma is a miser and dreams to become rich. After few years, they have two children. In the meantime, Priya, the daughter of Balu's boss Rajasekhar, falls in love with Balu and asks him to marry her unaware of Balu's marriage and his two children. Balu refuses to marry her as he was already married but she compels him. When Priya meets Uma, she offers her one crore rupees in exchange for marrying Balu. Uma immediately agrees and she starts forcing Balu for remarriage. Finally, Balu agrees with heavy heart as Uma threatens to commit suicide. Soon, Balu also starts falling in love with Priya. Uma slowly realizes her mistake and wants to get Balu back. The rest of the story is what happen to Balu, Uma and Priya.

The elder sons have only daughters and Balu is still bachelor. Balu is a singer in the marriage functions and he falls in love with Swathi, a girl from a middle-class family. He gets married with her and Swathi becomes pregnant. Balu's best friend, Raja, an honest journalist, is married to Shanthi and his wife is also pregnant. Swathi and Shanthi deliver the same day. Balu has a daughter although Raja has a son. In the meantime, Ranganayaki has a severe heart attack and the doctor says to not reveal shock news. In the hospital, a misunderstanding happens and Balu's father shows Raja's son to Ranganayaki in a serious condition. Ranganayaki is immediately recovered. Balu maintains the lie to save his mother's life. What transpires next forms the rest of the story.

Arun falls in love at first sight with a bank cashier Seetha and follow her everywhere. Seetha refuses his love and tells him her past. In the past, Seetha was from a middle-class family. Seetha's brother-in-law was a jobless, and lived with them. Balu was a bank manager and falls in love with Seetha. Mani, Balu's father, a miser, looked for a rich daughter-in-law. Finally, Balu got married with Seetha and the same day, Balu died in a crossfire. So Mani refused to keep Seetha in his house. Later, without money, Mani begged Seetha to come with him and she took her late husband job. Seetha's brother-in-law took his wife's thaali and tied the thaali to Seetha. She immediately removed the thaali. Arun decides to marry her despite her past. The court cancels the marriage between Seetha and her brother-in-law. Seetha's sister kills her husband to save Seetha's marriage. At the end, Arun and Seetha get married.
