An Echoing Memory of a Tongue (2017)
Words are just sounds that we have ascribed meaning to. But words are finite, the sounds we can generate are probably not. "An Echoing Memory of a Tongue" is an experimental/abstract visual trace of a stutter, the struggle that a person with chronic stuttering carries through his speech in an act of communication. In this broken-narrative, hand painted imagery, the combination of visuals, voices and the music tries to reflect the dialectical intricacies of weight and freedom within this struggle. This animation was inspired by my own stuttering since childhood, which undermined my own speech-acts, spawning different kinds of limitation.

Sister of Mine (2025)
A strange figure wanders inside a building: he presses elevator buttons, but each floor always promises the same landscapes of hallways, dark rooms, and a portrait of a woman with a cathedral background. The images intertwine until space becomes a mere illusion.

Woman (2023)
Woman is the first part of a trilogy that, from the perspective of the Iranian diaspora, supports the feminist revolution in Iran. Using documentary techniques to highlight street protests, the film presents civil disobedience as a collective performance and probes the discourse around women, life, and freedom.

The Other (2020)
We are constantly in conversation with the Other, either symbolically or literally. In the process of responding to the symbolic Other, it is hard to tell if the response is to the subject or our own projection. This animation tries to visualize this question within the social contact of an individual or a crowd.

In the Shallows (2024)
Walking down the street or sitting on a commuter train, few of us can resist the siren song of that small, illuminated device in our pockets. Through a carefully choreographed collision of hand-made sculptural collages and ink and paint animation, In the Shallows, by first-time NFB filmmaker Arash Akhgari, takes us on a deep dive into the shallow and fragmented world of news, entertainment and ads, where we can easily drown in the dangerous allure of mass media intoxication.

The Thing Is Lost (2025)
The Thing Is Lost is an abstract audiovisual experience inspired by the ever monotonous, oppressive and omnipresent existence of inner dialogue. This film is an emotional journey through expressions, confusions, colors and affections. A journey in the hope of “finding” or “being found.”
