Small Freedom (1978)
The allotment gardens on the outskirts of the city of Zurich provide hundreds of unpropertied men and women with a home which they are unable to find in the impersonal rented blocks in which they live. The gardens represent their hobby, their freedom and their living space, which exists side by side with hard work. They cannot however own these "homes" and the film shows the chronicle of the events which took place in 1976 - 77 when construction of the Zurich wholesale market hall destroyed 150 gardens and made many people "homeless". This portrait of a group is complemented by the stories of three individuals.

The Congress of Penguins (1993)
The real place where the penguin congress takes place is also the most fictional place on this planet where you can stand on your own two legs. Here, even the animals can talk. This land of dreams and nightmares is called Antarctica. In this desert of ice surrounded by a stormy sea, a few dozen human beings also live. Using sophisticated instruments, they observe the worrying changes affecting our world: the hole in the ozone layer, climate change, and so on.

Ultima Thule - Eine Reise an den Rand der Welt (2005)
Stockbroker Fred Böhler has an accident on his way to work. While his seriously injured body is taken to intensive care, his soul flies away as an eagle to another world. His journey first takes him into space, where he is repelled by the cold. In his encounter with the elemental nature of Alaska's pristine landscapes, he discovers the power of life. He continues along the path of evolution, where he encounters the most beautiful flowers, playful squirrels, and mighty moose and bison. Does he even want to return? The power of life and love ultimately triumphs over death.
