A love triangle is building up to a drama in and around the old mill. The wealthy and self-absorbed Per Persson is in love with the miller’s beautiful daughter, Grethe, whose heart, however, belongs to the miller’s apprentice. To Persson’s great frustration, Grethe would never dream of choosing wealth over love, so Persson instead – and unsuccessfully – tries to get rid of his rival in all sorts of nefarious ways. As a result of various complications, Pat and Patachon are employed as helping hands at the old mill and become good friends with the miller’s widow, Grethe and the apprentice. In a boarding house in the city live our friends Pat and Patachon, who have settled down in relative comfort for a modest sum of money. In the room next door lives an old inventor, a good friend of Pat and Patachon's. He’s been working on a television set for some time now, and it seems that his efforts will bear fruit. Patachon has caught the inventing bug and wants to come up with smokeless and noiseless gunpowder. All the while, Pat becomes increasingly worried about his friend. Two shady gentlemen are now attempting to steal the valuable drawings for the television invention, and Pat and Patachon become suspects in the case. Fortunately, the real thieves are caught, and Patachon gets the opportunity to demonstrate his ingenious invention.

Men det var i denne komedie af Emanuel Gregers, at han oplevede sin karrieres største komediesucces. I ”Biskoppen”, som blev indspillet midt i besættelsestiden, er han den forfængelige skuespiller Flor, der griber chancen, da den rigtige ”rolle” byder sig. Og som desværre bliver i rollen til efter tæppefald!

Lad det være sagt med det samme. Musikken i "Alle gaar rundt og forelsker sig" er fantastisk. Den bliver faktisk bedre og bedre med årene. Men det er også en operettefilm, hvor Kai Normann Andersen har komponeret, og hvor Teddy Petersen dirigerer. Så kunne det næppe gøres bedre i 1941. Handlingen i filmen er rimelig. Den er i hvert fald bedre end tilsvarende film fra samme periode fra den anden side af "dammen". Det er musikken, der løfter filmen op i de høje skylag. "Toner fra himlen" og selvfølgelig "Alle gaar rundt og forelsker sig".

Due to his gambling addiction, farmer Hans Sværke has brought his farm to the brink of bankruptcy, thereby opening up the opportunity for the wealthy landowner Karius to achieve his goal of taking over the farm. After the liberation in May 1945, the differences that had been less important during the war begin to stand in Søren's way. Both his friendship with his comrade and his relationship with the wealthy Inger fall apart in the summer of liberation.
