However, while he was there, he was recognized as the crown prince of Pengging, who had apparently been kidnapped by the Baka people when he was still a child. The angry King Baka personally led an attack on Pengging and was killed by Bandung Bondowoso. The son of the Baka king, Loro Jonggrang saw his father die and held a grudge against Bandung Bondowoso. When Bandung Bondowoso was about to propose, Loro Jonggrang also put forward a condition to build a thousand temples. When there was one less temple, Loro Jonggrang made the cock crow as if it was morning. Bandung, knowing that Loro Jonggrang was cheating, cursed it, making it the thousandth and largest temple.

Drawing from the novel, lenong (play) and the previous film (Njai Dasima I), this new film version has heightened erotic scenes considered the boldest for its time. But as mentioned by the director, the eroticism is meant to reveal the psychological aspects of the characters. Unlike the previous version, that mainly highlights conflict between love and witchcraft, this one features social and psychological conflicts. For example, how Dasima feels like an outsider with Edward Williams’s friends, or how she prefers leaving their house to live with her maid in the village. It also shows more background of the Samiun and Hayati characters - Samiun is a black market trader with a lot of debts and Hayati is a woman obsessed with gambling to get rich. When his debts are due and he is unable to pay, Samiun asks his friend, Puasa, to “rob” him while he is returning to their village with Dasima.

The village leader then assigns Beureum, an assassin, to get rid of Rausin. But Toha and Cicih, the female warrior, support him. Rainang, who is thought to have passed away, appears and intervenes, and in the end, kills Marsan.

Iis succeeds on becoming a singer while Lydia, who is about to be married off by her father to relieve debt, chooses to become a nightclub singer. Benny falls in love with Lydia. He stalks Lydia who is about to elope with her boyfriend. When the boyfriend is murdered and Lydia loses her eyesight, Benny redeems himself by helping Lydia with her treatment. He marries her even though Lydia is blind. After she is sure of her husband’s kindness, she agrees to have her eyes treated.

The Five Tigers are so powerful that Khubilai Khan’s forces are beaten back and return to their homeland in defeat.
