The wealthy car dealership owner Gerhard Binder has an accident with his car and is taken to hospital with serious injuries. Routine examinations reveal that this was an attempted murder. So detectives Jäger, Kraft, and Hoffmann must first investigate a case in which there are no deaths. But anyone familiar with Mania Pictures knows that this won't remain the case for long. The circle of suspects includes primarily Binder's young and attractive wife, as well as his broke brother, a washed-up porn producer. Suddenly, a mysterious stranger appears who obviously also has a bone to pick with Gerhard Binder. Because detectives Jäger and Kraft botched an unauthorized operation, they now have to face the consequences: they are demoted and placed under the command of their colleague Hoffmann. In their private lives, too, things are not as they should be. While Jäger is kept busy at night by his young children, Lola and Andreas' relationship is in crisis.
