At Cabo Fisterra, where the Way of St. James ends and the Atlantic crashes against the cliffs, two pilgrims find the body of a woman: Sofía Serrano, an employee of the pilgrims' office in Santiago de Compostela. Skalde lives in a small rural community, far from a world that may no longer exist.
