The Flower of the Lake (1999)

The flower that emerges from the lake is personified in the film's main character, Christos. Every morning, when the sky and the water in the lake become one with the mist, Christos casts his nets... Tamtakos has a goat, Sardanafalos, and exploits its reproduction with the goats of the area. However, he falls into the trap of the tax authorities, who cannot classify the goat's "leap" in the VAT category. When the ministry's economic committee decides on a 6% VAT rate in order to support livestock farming, it is too late for Tamtakos, as the goat has already been slaughtered by Lefteris, the husband of an offended villager.
