Lauro is a shy and awkward young photographer. He has a secret in his past that has affected his entire life, but he only knows the consequences and cannot identify the cause. However, an irresistible instinct leads him to search for his possible lost brother, the son of a relationship his father may have had with a neighbor. The woman, Margherita, has become a famous painter, and with the excuse of photographing her, Lauro travels to Zafferano, a small Sicilian village.
