He is the current principal conductor of the Mariinsky's Orchestra and conducted St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra during twelve years. During the Verbier Festival 2011 he performed with the great Yuja Wang in a programme including Liadov, Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky.
