The Thai government hires a group of Chinese mercenaries to capture a powerful drug lord from the Golden Triangle. The mercenaries manage to capture the drug lord, but soon find themselves pursued by his forces, and the forces of a bitter Thai officer. The Chinese mercenaries are vastly outnumbered, and as their numbers begin to dwindle, their desperation pulls them into a corner as their enemies close in on them.

Near the Abrok river bordering Korea and China, both Chinese citizens of the Qing dynasty and Chosun immigrants live together peacefully. When Yeon Ching-su of the Wol-gwan martial arts sect, a Korean, is killed in a fight against Pang of the Qing's Pacheon sect, his student Jin Ho-rim goes into the mountains to train in the art of Gol-gwon fighting skills with Master Gol-bo. He masters the Gol-gwon skills and descends to find Pang. Pang sends his henchman who is easily beaten by Ho-rim and Pang resorts to kidnapping Master Gol-bo's daughter Chu-hwa. When Ho-rim fails to rescue Chu-hwa, he challenges Pang to a fight to the finish. During the Ching Dynasty, a Buddhist priest named Hung must take a journey to spread the word of Buddha. He takes the holy Scriptures along on his journey to southern China. Luckily Priest Hung is able to escape from the attackers and meets a fellow northerner, Huang, who swears to aid the holy man.
