Roseanne Arnold was just a Domestic-Goddess-in-Training when she first appeared on the show. Other great comics like Steve Martin, George Carlin, and Albert Brooks continued to visit, and I'm delighted with their success. This volume reminds me that our batting average with talking or singing birds was not good. Once they got in front of the lights, they clammed up like captured spies - except Pancho the Parrot. This month of May, 1992, was an emotional one for all of us. Many friends dropped in to say goodbye. The program of May 21, 1992, provided some electric moments. My final guest was Bette Midler, and the memory of that night will be with me forever. I hope you enjoy all the fond memories in this volume.

Little did we suspect that when Tiny Tim married Miss Vicki on our show that, outside of man's first walk on the moon, it would become the most watched event of the year. And with Leno's and Letterman's first appearances on The Tonight Show... Well, look at them now! And besides being a great musician, Doc Severinsen can be very funny, as you'll see when he shares a Thanksgiving memory of the past. Wild Kingdom's Jim Fowler and Joan Embry of the San Diego Zoo managed to bring to the show wildlife of every kind. One of the most requested involved a marmoset which showed no respect whatsoever. Jimmy Stewart - what a class act! When Jimmy read a poem dedicated to his dog, it generated the most requests ever! So sit back, relax and enjoy these special moments.
