The episode "Smooth Criminal", directed by Colin Chilvers, was the basis of the story line of the tape. Two mounted shortened versions of the episode became video clips for the song. In the video, the singer demonstrated several elements that became his business cards: "anti-gravity slope," finger-stitched fingers and a bandage on his sleeve.
