Because she violated the doctor’s order to not get pregnant again, Yuwono’s wife finally dies while she is pregnant with her third child. Yuwono then marries an office staff, Ningsih. Harun, another co-worker who also loves Ningsih, tries to destroy Yuwono by tampering with the office’s financial report so that Yuwono is arrested and is investigated. Harun then influences Ningsih, regarding her standing as a stepmother, so that Yuwono’s house is taken over and the stepchildren, Netty and Susy, are treated harshly. The two children run away from home, looking for their father, and are separated for a time. When Yuwono is proven innocent and is released, he does not find his children at home and goes around Jakarta to look for them. He finally finds them again.

Amir, the son of a businessman, Yahya, is more interested in music than in having a position as president of the company. Yahya is totally against this, and even his brother, Ismed is not allowed to help him. Instead, help comes from Norma, his father’s private secretary, and some young musicians. A music festival that Amir organizes is a huge success. In the end, Yahya makes peace with Amir and retires happily. The company is handed over to Ismed while Norma goes off to help Amir. The film featured the Imam Band that was popular at that time. The members were Eka Djaja Combo, Dolok Martimbang, Teruna Ria, Kinantan, Irama Agung and Idris Sardi and his orchestra.

After the graduation from “Sekolah Kepandaian Putri” (Female-Skill School) or SKP, Lena works as a housemaid for Toto’s family as she cannot afford to continue her education. Pardan is also living in the same house. When she returns from “tetirah” (a Javanese term for a short vacation in a health resort), Mrs. Toto is agitated by the presence of the new housemaid from SKP. They become close though at first, Tarsan has problems speaking the Indonesian language. Then he agrees to go to the city and learn how to be an urbanite. It is not easy as he is even harassed by Ida’s friends who do not like him.
