Fy and Bi live on the top floor of an old house. Their neighbor is Lise Holm, who works at a chocolate factory and is alone with her child. Her ex-husband, the lazy and brutal Tom, steals the child, but Fy and Bi help her get it back. They also ensure that she eventually marries the factory director's son, who is in love with her.
